Lazada Vietnam resumes logistics services in Ho Chi Minh City
September 01, 2021

Following the Vietnamese government’s most recent directives to allow for delivery within Ho Chi Minh City despite the lockdown, Lazada Vietnam has resumed its logistics services to ensure that residents have access to food, groceries and other essentials. Since Monday, the eCommerce platform has delivered tens of thousands of orders to serve communities hard-hit by the pandemic and lockdown restrictions, which in some areas prohibit residents from venturing outside their homes.

Ensuring the health and safety of logistics frontliners and customers

Even as our logistics and delivery frontliners return to the roads to serve their communities, we want to ensure that they are well-protected and safe. All our shippers have been vaccinated and are equipped with a safety kit – including face masks, face shields and hand sanitisers. They also follow strict hygiene protocols, monitoring and regular COVID-19 testings, as well as the Vietnamese Ministry of Health’s hygiene advisory known as the “5K message.” It includes the wearing of facemask (Khẩu trang), regular disinfection practices (Khử khuẩn), compliance with social distancing (Khoảng cách) and no gathering (Không tụ tập) rules and providing health statuses (Khai báo y tế). The transportation team are also working in separate shifts and are practicing contactless delivery. Warehouses and other facilities are also disinfected between shifts during the day.

Expanding assortment to meet consumers’ stay-at-home needs

We are also expanding assortment in categories most in demand now, to ensure that we are meeting consumer’s need as they stay home to stay safe. The essential categories are namely:

  • Groceries, primarily the fresh food categories
  • Health care products, such as collagen fluid, multivitamin tablets; and home-based medical kit items, such as thermometres, blood pressure monitors and finger pulse oximeters.
  • Books and stationery supplies, including textbooks, reference books, foreign language books; along with school supplies, such as notebooks, drawing tools, craft materials, pens and other school accessories for students

To help address some of the difficulties faced by consumers during the pandemic season, including financial ones, Lazada Vietnam is making getting essentials online even more affordable. Working closely with our brand and seller partners, the platform is able to offer discounts of up to 50% and free shipping offers of 30,000 VND for orders from VND 150,000 VND. The offers are applicable from Sept. 2 to Sept. 30 in the following cities and provinces: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Long An, Binh Duong and Dong Nai.
