As the Sortation Manager, the incumbent is expected to:
o Manage the daily operations of all of the sortation centre through supervision of the inbound, sorting, reprocessing, and outbound functions of the centre.
o Supervise a team of Supervisors responsible for each of the four sortation functions (based on a shift schedule, if any).
o Lead the day-to-day relationships and manage the activities of the 3PV and 3PL.
o Ensure that staffing of the sort functions is appropriate and reacts to daily volume changes and changes in freight profiles.
o Oversee the training and development of sortation centre staff through a close working relationship with HR/OTD.
o Monitor productivity, and capacity, and participate actively in the choices to add technology to manual operating procedures to drive the performance to meet the KPI.
o Balance facility activity and priorities to meet line haul obligations, fine sorting processes, fleet unloading and loading work, scanning and sorting effectiveness for high service levels and accuracy.
o Ensure data integrity and timeliness in the updating to package journey, ensuring that journey routing decision rules are uniformly and accurately applied.
o Make sure that our customer service obligations are constantly met.
o At least five years of experience in managing logistics and delivery fleet operations, preferably in major third-party logistics firms with nationwide and international operations
o Strong project track record in rapidly building, expanding, and leading logistics teams
o Hands-on management style, with a strong affinity for quantitative analyses-driven strategy setting
o Strong leadership, with proven strength in communicating with multicultural teams and motivating co-workers to achieve expected results.
o Expertise in data analytical, excel and strong presentation skills.
