Team and Role Introduction
The Key Account Manager drives the overall growth of his/her assigned account portfolio. He/she will be responsible for overall account management, sales analysis, assortment expansion, business reviews, and issue resolution. He/she will also be involved in cross-functional areas such as planning, pricing, marketing, fulfillment, and operations.
Category Knowledge
- Develop deep understanding of specific sub-categories (business acumen, trends, etc.)
- Be able to understand and use data analysis and industry insights to develop a strategy that is communicated and delivered through managing key accounts
Strategy & Leadership
- Work alongside platform operations, campaigns / traffic / marketing teams to meet metrics and business growth
- Work with other key account managers to effectively execute category strategy
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Key Account Leader for General Merchandise, you will be responsible for:
- Establishing strong relations with sellers/brands, supporting their performance, and functioning as the primary contact point
- Being in charge of an account portfolio under a product category for Lazada (General Merchandise – Home & Living, Motors, Sports & Outdoors, Hobbies, etc.)
- Identifying key assortment opportunities and providing insights to sellers and brands regarding sales levers (price, promotions, etc)
- Helping sellers and brands in planning and maintaining stock availability
- Proposing appropriate packages, adoption of marketing services, and campaign participation
- In charge of monetization and investment rate of account portfolio
- Working with point of contacts in building marketing plan across marketing channels (platform, social media, display, etc.)
- Ensuring ambitious revenue growth by developing strong analytics to regularly evaluate business performance and optimizing further support (e.g., marketing, pricing, product selection, etc.)
Requirements/Qualifications (must have)
In order to succeed in the role, requirements are:
- Bachelor's/College Degree related to Sales, Marketing, and/or Business (retail and marketing knowledge and experience would be a plus) with entrepreneurial mindset
- 2-3 years of sales and account management experience for sellers and brands preferably belonging in the industry of General Merchandise (Home & Living, Motors, Sports & Outdoors, Hobbies, etc.)
- Can easily build rapport and professional relationship to Key Accounts (big sellers / brands)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, has business acumen
- Innovative problem-solving skills; dissect and determine root causes of problems and implement solutions
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Adept in business tools such as dashboards, spreadsheets, and other online applications
- Self-motivated, driven, enthusiastic for e-commerce (including its possibilities and dynamics)
- Flexible, adaptive, and versatile – need to be able to work with different people and teams
- Fluency in English (proficiency in Chinese would be a plus)
