We are seeking a Business Development Analyst to join Lazada's Commercial team, specifically within the Business Development (BD) function. The Business Development team is a dynamic group of business strategists, data analysts, and marketing experts responsible for driving mass seller acquisition, onboarding, and incubation initiatives. As a Business Development Analyst, you will be the team's data and analytics expert, ensuring the effective tracking, analysis, and optimization of performance metrics. You will play a key role in uncovering growth opportunities and supporting strategic decision-making.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Data Tracking & Analysis
● Be the team's lead and expert on data, leveraging analytics to evaluate market performance and business operations.
● Develop, maintain, and enhance tracking systems to monitor key performance metrics, proactively identifying potential issues.
● Automate dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights, enabling data-driven decision-making at scale.
● Analyze monthly performance trends and provide strategic recommendations for optimization.
● Conduct ad-hoc analysis to address pressing business challenges and opportunities.
- Budget Management & Steering
● Collaborate with the team to oversee initiatives and spending, ensuring efficiency and alignment with business goals.
● Track budget spending levels and ensure that resources are directed towards the right levers
● Collaborate with the BD Online Marketing (OM) team to refine spending strategies and monitor daily performance metrics.
● Prepare detailed post-mortem analyses for Finance, supporting budget reviews and defending next cycle funding requests.
- Research & Development
● Drive innovation by creating user-targeting segments based on demographic insights for use in online marketing campaigns.
● Conduct competitor analysis and continuously monitor industry trends.
● Collaborate with the LazResearch team to gather critical market data, commission focus groups and lead targeted studies.
● Design and execute large-scale surveys for users and sellers to uncover growth opportunities and actionable insights.
● Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) for the seller onboarding process, identifying and proposing improvements to enhance the user experience.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and present insights clearly.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and hands-on experience in data extraction, cleaning, preparation and dashboard development
- Proficiency in data visualization and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills, capable of working cross-functionally with diverse teams.
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to explore innovative solutions for business growth and efficiency.
- Background in conducting AB Testing, UATs, FGDs and surveys is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study
