We are seeking an entrepreneurial and passionate Category Manager who will be responsible for the sourcing and merchandising of a key grocery category for RedMart Lazada Singapore. The candidate needs to show skill-sets in stakeholders management, communications, is highly organized, fast and able to prioritize effectively to achieve strong commercial outcomes. The individual is expected to drive business growth & profitability through key-actions such range management, suppliers’ negotiation, optimize campaign planning & execution, as well as being passionate in the groceries industry.
• Develop and execute optimal category strategy, pricing, promotions, range, availability, and cost prices to expand both sales and margin
• Ensure RedMart has the widest selection and best prices in the market through international sourcing, recruiting marketplace sellers and leveraging competitive intelligence.
• Work with existing suppliers and negotiate supplier marketing and advertising spend while ensuring a reliable and operationally effective flow of goods to our fulfilment centre.
• Work to develop new sourcing and extended range to ensure we have high quality, good value goods available to our customers year-round.
• Provide insights to the Category Director and employ data-driven decision making to grow the category.
• Contribute to RedMart growth by optimizing and streamlining current processes to minimize time spent on daily tasks to focus on more strategic thinking.
• Work cross functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Imports, Finance, and Channel Marketing to ensure the best customer experience.
• Highly energetic, self-motivated and proactive with a passion for e-Commerce & digital marketing and understanding the consumer journey.
• At least 4-5 years of experience preferably in retail industry/ buying/ merchandising/ category management, preferably in fresh & frozen category.
• Organized and structured, ability to identify business needs and execute.
• Highly analytical and comfortable with analyzing complex, large scale data sets. Proficiency in Pivot Table & vLookup is a must.
• Good market research and competitor analysis skills.
• Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills to facilitate stakeholder management.
• Exceptional English written and verbal communication skills and can build relationships with people from different background and cultures, both online and offline.
• Extreme attention to details and follow-up actions as well as a fast turn-around working style is required.
• Demonstrate ability to be fast, able to handle multiple tasks, to prioritize them and meet deadlines.
• Pro-active entrepreneurial attitude, creative and always think out of the box.
